G.B. Sales is the dominant supplier of floor and window coverings to the Property Management community throughout the San Diego area. Founded in 1959 as a furniture store, GB Sales later expanded its product line and added floor and window coverings. In the 1970's GB Sales narrowed its focus and concentrated on exclusively providing floor and window coverings to Property Management companies, which has led to its position today. Over the last ten years GB Sales has expanded its reach and now works with many different commercial contractors throughout the city on flooring and window coverings projects for new apartments and commercial offices, schools, universities, hospitals and military facilities. A 3,600 square foot showroom, staffed by a full-time interior designer, has also been added to meet the demand from our customers to provide custom products and services for higher-end residential customers.

In June 2006, Ken and Valerie Hilton purchased the business from Bob Fay, who had decided to retire. Bob remains active in a consultant capacity with the company. Ken brings 30 years of sales, marketing and operations experience to GB Sales. Ken's background includes management roles at companies like IBM as well as the CEO position with both public and private companies. In addition, Valerie brings 20 years of sales, sales management and national account experience to GB Sales. Both are committed to providing customers with the highest level of quality products, installation services and corporate support. Our proprietary software program helps us manage our customer's account beginning with order entry and ending with the scheduling of installers to specific jobs based on that specific installer's profile. We can match the needs of each job to the installer's specific experience and specialty. Soon, in response to our customer's desires, GB Sales will be delivering additional support via the Internet for ordering, billing and customer support.

G. B. Sales has been a member of the San Diego Apartment Association for almost 30 years and is a four-time winner of the "Mark of Excellence" award. We are also a member of the North County Apartment Association and the World Floor Covering Association. We are the only San Diego member of Multifamily Solutions Network, which is dedicated to servicing the largest property management companies and REITS in the industry.

General
  1. We are one of the largest refurbishers of apartments in San Diego.
  2. Due to the size of our customer service staff, computer capabilities and fax programs, our customers place orders with minimal effort.
  3. Our facilities are approximately 20,000 square feet with 45 plus employees in addition to 30 plus flooring installation crews.
  4. In addition to our inside staff, we have 4 outside sales people and 6 inside customer service staff for our customers.
  5. Most of our installers are employees, although, a few have their own contractors license and are independent contractors.
Although our concentration is primarily apartment units, we provide anything for floors and windows.

(This includes, but is not limited to, interior hallways, laundry rooms, office buildings, churches, schools, private residences, boats, planes, motor homes, etc.)

Carpet
We stock 32 different carpets for apartments (having 75,000 yards or more in stock at all times).

Although we feel that any customer should be able to choose from our existing line, if they have their own choice we will consider stocking it for them.

Over 30 crews a day, six days per week are available and we can generally install with one day's notice (advanced notice is encouraged and always welcome).

Vinyl
We stock 20 different vinyls for apartments. We can usually provide installation with one day's notice, but encourage 2-3 day's notice, if possible.

We generally schedule vinyl Monday-Friday, but on an emergency basis, inquire about Saturday installations.

Window Treatments
We have 7 measure and installation crews who measure for apartment floor and window coverings and also install window treatments.

We manufacture vertical blinds and drapes for commercial use, which gives us extensive control over quality and production.

Additionally, we have several sizes of PVC and aluminum mini-blinds, which can be cut to size.

For residences in need of custom treatments, we have a complete library of fabrics and samples of custom verticals, "soft" treatments, shades, wood blinds and shutters.
